Volunteer Coordinators Network

The SMCMA chaired the December/Summer meeting of the Volunteer Coordinators Network. The Network comprises officers from some of the 39 Local Government councils within the SMCMA region; the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and other organisations. Between them these officers manage 850 Bushcare groups in Sydney with more than 5,000 regular volunteers.
They co-ordinate tree planting and community environmental events that reach thousands more. As part of the Saving Sydney's Biodiversity program the SMCMA undertakes the administrative management of this Network, organising meetings hosted by different organisations across the catchment and supporting network events and activities.
