Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authority has merged with Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority

The NSW Government recently announced that the Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authority has been merged with the Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority as part of the changes to the regional service delivery model. From January, 2014 Local Land Services, a new regionally-based organisation will replace the Catchment Management Authorities, Livestock, Health & Pest Authorities and incorporate agricultural services currently provided by Agriculture NSW.

The Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority's area of operation now includes all the areas previously covered by the Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authority. SMCMA Priority Weed Mapping The maps produced will assist in the identification of priority areas for weed control that in turn will lead to the efficient allocation of resources and assist with the development and implementation of weed control programs on both a local and regional scale.

Native Vegetation of Sydney 2009 Draft The vegetation mapping project was established to provide a consistent, fine scale map of all native vegetation communities present within the area bounded by the SMCMA. The purpose of the map is to provide DECCW, SMCMA, local government and other land management agencies with a single resource for regional and local scale planning and assessment decision-making.

Tussock Paspalum Distribution The aims of the vegetation mapping project were to survey areas support infestations of Paspalum quadrifarium Tussock paspalum and record core attribute data regarding each infestation in the field.
